To create a desktop icon or shortcut, do the following:

  1. Browse to the file on your hard disk for which you want to create a shortcut. The default installation location for many Adobe applications is C:Program FilesAdobe.
  2. Right-click the file for which you want to create a shortcut.
  3. Select Create Shortcut from the menu.
    Note: Click Yes in the Shortcut dialog box if Windows gives the message 'Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?'
  4. Drag the shortcut to the desktop or any other folder.

  1. To add your own group containers to the desktop, click the Nimi Places icon in the system tray. This will open the window as shown in the screenshot below. Click the + button at the bottom right to make a new container. Then click Place, and select one of your desktop shortcut folders. That will add the folder container to the desktop, and you.
  2. If you do not want a shortcut on your desktop, click the icon, and then drag it to the Recycle Bin. This action only removes the shortcut, not the program that it is pointing to. You can also right-click the icon, and then click Delete to remove a shortcut from your desktop. Some icons such as My Network Places, Recycle Bin, and My Computer.
